Mixed Gladioli
  • Position your corms in full sun to partial shade in a well-drained, moist soil.
  • Plant your corms 10-16cm (4-6in) deep and 10cm (4in) apart.

Mixed Anemone
  • Find a location with well-drained, humus-rich soil.
  • Anemone like to be planted in Full Sun or Partially-Shaded areas.
  • If planting in the garden, plant the bulbs 10-15cm (4-6in) below the soil surface.
  • If planting in pots, find a container and fill it with good-quality, well-drained soil.
  • Ensure there is adequate draining holes.
  • After planting, water the Anemone well, gently soaking the soil to settle it around the bulbs.
Mixed Crocosmia
  • Crocosmia prefer slightly acidic soil.
  • Make sure they are in well-drained soil.
  • Plant the corms about 7-10cm (3-5in) deep and 15-20cm part (6-8in). Plant in clusters for maximum effect.
Mixed Freesia
  • Grow Freesias in moist, free-draining soil in a sunny position.
  • If growing in pots, use a loam-based compost such as John Innes No. 2. Plant Freesia bulbs 7cm deep and 10 cm apart.
  • If growing in a frost-prone area, it is advisable to grow in a greenhouse or in pots for the patio so that your containers can be moved over winter to a frost-free position.

Plant care: Buy Mixed Summer Flowers | Buy Bulbs | Gold Medal Winning Harts Nursery

Mixed Gladioli
  • If in pots, stop watering at the end of Summer and bring then indoors for winter to protect against frost. In a greenhouse, shed or garage will be fine.
  • Place back outside once the danger of winter frosts has passed.

Mixed Anemone
  • After flowering has finished for the season leave the foliage in place; don't cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight, create food through photosynthesis and strengthen the bulbs for the future.
  • Water as needed during active growth periods.
  • By mid summer the leaves may yellow and die back. Foliage may be removed at this point.

Mixed Crocosmia
  • Feed them lots of water during the summer months.
  • Crocosmia can be left over winter, just give them a good mulching over before the first frosts in Autumn.
  • If you're in a frost-prone area, then you could lift them and store them over winter in a frost-free place and replant them again mid-Spring.
  • If you're leaving them in the ground over winter, dead leave them before the new foliage sprouts through.

Mixed Freesia
  • If growing in a frost-prone area, it is advisable to grow in a greenhouse or in pots for the patio so that containers can be moved over winter to a frost-free position.
  • Once the flowers begin to grow through the surface of the soil again the following spring they can be moved back outside.
  • Water Freesias frequently throughout the Summer months.
  • Reduce watering as they begin to die back and remove foliage.
  • Freesias that are grown in garden borders outside should be mulched with chipped bark to protect them from cold wet weather over winter.
