Narcissus 'Mallee'
Narcissus 'Mallee' is beautifully frilly! It opens mid spring from white to salmon-pink petals with a yellowy throat. The softly ruffled edges almost look like it is wearing a frilly skirt. A great narcissus either planted on its own or sat with other less showy daffodils.

How to plant Narcissus

  • Find a location with well-drained soil. Narcissus will not thrive in water-logged areas.
  • Narcissus like to receive full sun for most of the day.
  • Planting Narcissus in the Garden

  • If planting in the garden, plant the bulbs with their pointed tops 10-15cm (4-6") below the soil surface with smaller bulbs placed more shallowly than larger ones.
  • Space the bulbs 7-10cm (3-4") apart. Allow 4 to 5 bulbs per square foot.
  • Planting Narcissus in Pots

  • If planting in Pots, find a large container and fill it with good-quality, well-drained soil. Ensure there is adequate draining holes.
  • Plant in the Autumn, September through November.
  • Plant the bulbs with their pointed tops 10-15cm (4-6")
  • After planting, water the Narcissus well, gently soaking the soil to settle it around the bulbs.
  • Narcissus will flower early Spring.

Care Instructions

How to care for Narcissus

  • After flowering has finished for the season leave the foliage in place; don't cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight, create food through photosynthesis and strengthen the bulbs for the future.
  • Water as needed during active growth periods.
  • By mid summer the leaves may yellow and die back. Foliage may be removed at this point.
