Just to let you know, the bulbs arrived this morning extremely well packed and in good condition – considering all the extreme weather conditions they’ve been through! Many thanks, Neil.
So pleased to hear you have received your lily bulbs and are happy with the quality. It’s always nice to hear from our happy customers.

I want to buy some vallota speciosa (Scarborough lilies) in bulb form (to send to friends).
Do you sell these please?
Wendy

Will my Lily bulbs grow in a fairly heavy soil and without ericaceous compost. The border was composted thoroughly a month ago.
I ask because I’ve never grown lily bulbs before!
Good news, Tree-like lily bulbs are happy in any soil type as long as it is free-draining. These gorgeous lilies don’t like to get waterlogged. Hope that helps.

A friend wants some lily plant/bulbs which produce flowers first and then the green parts! Are these a particular plant? She will be planting them in pots in central London.
Any suggestions.
Thanks Myra
Do you think your friend is talking about Amaryllis? These are a stunning flower! Amaryllis Bulbs should flower about six to eight weeks after planting, and should be planted from October to January.

I love lilies but unfortunately their scent gives me migraines. Is there any lilies I could grow in pots on my patio that have no scent, Even alstroemeria can give me a headache in vases in the house.
Lilies are such a glorious flower but the scent is an acquired taste. Generally, it’s the oriental varieties that carry the scent. However, the Asiatic lilies, that are very vibrantly coloured, do not carry a scent. The Asiatic lilies grow very well in pots and tend to reach a height of about 100cm tall.
Please find below some of our favourite Asiatic lilies that are fragrant free:

I have just received the most magnificent Cardiocrinum Giganteum bulbs from you and want to make sure they get the right start. How deep should they be planted and how much watering is required before and after planting?
We’re glad you’re happy with your Cardiocrinum Giganteum bulbs. Aren’t the bulbs just fantastic! You will need to plant the Cardiocrinum Giganteum bulbs with just the tip of the bulb showing (like how we’ve supplied it in the pot) and they only need to be moderately watered. Do not be tempted to over water them. They will need to planted outside now. Happy planting!

Would Tricolore be the same as a “captain tricolore” lily bulb, if not can you let me know if you can get hold of some of these bulbs for me, or where I am likely to find any?
Thank you.
I’ve not heard of Captain Tricolore lily I’m afraid. But we do have Tricolore lily in stock which is a gorgeous Oriental lily variety with a lovely scent. The 3 different colours (hence the name) really do make it a striking flower for your garden or pots.
