This question was asked by
T. Fermor

I would like to buy three of the bulbs. I have tried phoning you without success and hope you still have some. I saw them in the Gardening Which? magazine. Please could someone let me know if you still have some and how I can order them.

Good afternoon,
I am ever so sorry but we are out of stock of Anouska I am afraid.

Kind regard

Lily identification

This question was asked by
Christina

Hi, my aunt and I were recently given a bouquet of roses and lilies following the passing of my mother. So far we haven’t been able to identify the lilies, although we think they’re oriental as they have a strong and beautiful fragrance. Would it be okay to send you a photo of them via my email address?
Regards,
Christina

Yes of course – please send it to enquiries@hartsnursery.co.uk and I will try and help you identify the lily. I am so sorry for your loss.
Kind regards

First time to lilies

This question was asked by
J. Foreman

Hello,
We just got an order of your bulbs, and I thought that sometimes you need to put them in the freezer for a while to “active” the winter time since there will not be a deep freeze again. Is this true? If so, how long? If not, thanks for letting me know. I am rather new at this (and the country).
Jamie

Hi James,
Your lilies need planting as soon as possible as they’ve been kept in cold store before dispatching out to you. Please just ensure your lilies don’t get waterlogged and that they are planted in a well-drained soil. Your lilies will be happy to stay where they are over winter next year as they like a cold dormant phase. Hope this helps.

Elodie bulbs

This question was asked by
Y. Passmore

Can you grow these in a pot? If so what compost etc and when.
Thanks

Yes Elodie Lilies can be grown in pots, or in the garden. As Lilium Elodie is a double Asiatic Lily, they prefer an Alkaline soil. If you’re planting in pots then we would suggest a good quality multi-purpose compost with good drainage in the pots.

Large yellow lily

Hello,
On the main page what is the name of the tree lily with yellow centre / pinky buds, it’s the main pic on the link to the tree lily page?
Thanks

Good morning,
This stunning variety of tree-like lily is called Manissa. The image you mention is a customer’s photo that was sent into us. It has such an abundance of blooms that are gorgeously fragrant.

Lily beetle

This question was asked by
Julie

I’ve just placed an order for an assortment of lilies but am wondering if you can recommend something for the prevention of Lily Beetle infestation? I generally pick them off by hand when I see them but with my new order, this will be rather time consuming in the future! How do you control them?
Looking forward to hearing your sound advice!
Thanks,
Julie

Good afternoon,
We now have a Lily Beetle Prevention spray that we highly recommend to keep the lily beetles at bay. The solution is Wildlife-friendly, Eco-friendly, Child and Pet-friendly.
