C. Howarth

Hello could you please let me know when you are getting Anouska back in stock as I would like to buy 10 of them.
Thank you
Regards
Chris

Hi there,
Unfortunately, the Lilium Anouska crop this year has been very limited. I don’t think we will have any more available this year. Sorry about that.

Hymenocallis Festalis – White (Pack 3 Bulbs)

This question was asked by
Paul Appleton

Hi,
I’m relatively new to growing plant bulbs so could you please advise how to get the bulbs off to the best start. I have already planted them in plastic pots with a mixture of bulb compost and grit. Should I water them as well? And what is the ideally heat? Currently I have them in my summer house but this gets quite cold in the evening.
Thanks for any advice you can give me!
Paul

Hi there,
Your potted up Hymenocallis Festalis bulbs are fine to go outside now. If we have a frost now, it shouldn’t be harsh enough to affect the Hymenocallis. Be sure to water your bulbs regularly.

Lily Beetles on Fritillaria

This question was asked by
B. Cormack

Would it not be a good idea to remind people to look out for the damned Lily Beetles on Fritillaries. My fritillaria meleagris have been attacked by the beetle for the last two years, and I now keep a close eye on them as soon as the leaves appear.

Hello there,
Thanks for your feedback. I do mention about the Lily Beetle on Fritillarias on the ‘Care & Planting Guide’ on our website but maybe I should add it to the individual product pages also. Thanks for the tip! Have you tried our Lily Beetle Prevention Spray for your Fritillaria?

Delivery/bulbs query

This question was asked by
C. Power

Hi there, I’m very interested in Gloriosa (Pack of 3 Rhizomes). I’m contacting from Ireland and see the delivery is £13. I’m trying to work out how to get best value on this so am wondering if you can let me know which other bulbs are being packed at the same time (so would go in same delivery) and how many bulbs you send for the £13. Many thanks! Cecilia.

Hello there,
All our ‘Summer flowering bulbs’ and ‘Lilies’ are sent in the same shipment. You can find these categories on the left hand side of our website if you’re on a PC. Or in the drop down menu if you’re on a smart phone or tablet.

What do I do once my pot lily has flowered?

This question was asked by
A. Ives

I have had a beautiful pink pot lily for a significant birthday and it is now coming to the end of its flowering. What do I do to preserve the bulbs for next year?
Thank you

You can cut the flower head off and the leave the rest of the lily (foliage and stem) to die back naturally, this will put the energy back into the bulb to strengthen it and allow it to flower again the following year. Once all the foliage has turned brown and the stem has turned hollow, you can remove it. Keep your planted up lily bulb in a cool, dry place and ensure it doesn’t get waterlogged. Lily bulbs like a cold dormant phase once it has flowered as they can tolerate very cold temperatures, they just don’t like to get wet as they will rot.

Ordering lilies in April

This question was asked by
D. Bailie

Is it too late to order oriental and trumpet lilies to plant in April?

No it’s not too late at all to order your lilies from us now. All our lilies are kept in cold store so they will flower usually about 12 weeks from planting them.
