Could it be slugs?  I have been putting lots of eggshells down near the Hostas and it seems to have worked.  If I leave the Lillies in the ground, will the eaten ones re-appear next year.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"hubmaster_faq_answer\">Unfortunately this sounds like lily beetle. It&#8217;s a scarlet coloured beetle that likes to eat the lilies foliage. To prevent your lilies from being destroyed by the lily beetle, we suggest producing a Neem Oil Solution. You could try ordering some Neem Oil online. You will then need to dilute the Neem Oil with water. We recommend using a hand sprayer with 1 teaspoon of Neem Oil (5ml) plus a small amount of washing up liquid (as a surfactant) with approx. 500ml water.
