{"id":719,"date":"2017-03-29T12:30:47","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T12:30:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/?p=719"},"modified":"2017-03-29T12:30:47","modified_gmt":"2017-03-29T12:30:47","slug":"lily-trials-at-reaseheath-college","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/lily-trials-at-reaseheath-college\/","title":{"rendered":"Lily Trials at Reaseheath College"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170329_081154.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-723\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170329_081154.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nWe have been to Reaseheath college this morning to deliver 600 lilies for them to trial in their state of the art greenhouse, what an amazing set up it was.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.reaseheath.ac.uk\/\">Reaseheath College<\/a> is based near us near nantwich and is a big horticultural college.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170329_081205.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-724\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170329_081205.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170329_081441.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-725\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hartsnursery.co.uk\/lily-info\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/20170329_081441.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThey also showed us the tomato vines. They are currently running a crop to monitor the growth process under different lighting techniques. This will help them determine the quality of marketable fruit under different light conditions in the winter period so tomatoes will be able to be grown all year round in the UK. The varieties they are currently growing are &#8216;piccolo&#8217; a small cherry-on-the-vine tomato (you can often find these in supermarkets!) and cocktail variety &#8216;Brioso&#8217;.\u00a0I was fortunate enough to try one of their piccolo tomatoes\u00a0&#8211; I have to say it was one of the best tomatoes I have ever eaten! It was like eating a sweet. So much flavour and bursting with sweetness.<br \/>\nTheir horticulture program is fantastic and as there never seems enough people to fill jobs in the sector, a great career choice.
