How to plant Cyclamen

  • If planting in the garden, plant the bulbs 6-8cm below the soil surface.
  • If planting in Pots, find a container and fill it with good-quality, well-drained soil. Ensure there is adequate draining holes.
  • Plant in the Autumn, September through November.
  • After planting, water the Cyclamen well, gently soaking the soil to settle it around the bulbs.
  • Cyclamen hederifolium will flower early in November.

Care Instructions

How to care for Cyclamen

  • After flowering has finished for the season leave the foliage in place; don't cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight, create food through photosynthesis and strengthen the bulbs for the future.
  • Water as needed during active growth periods.
  • Apply a mulch of well-rotted leaf mould around the plants in Spring as the foliage starts to die back.
