Incarvillea Delavayi is a hardy perennial that has beautiful exotic looking mauve flowers with a fantastic fern-like foliage. It can be planted in pots or straight into your garden. It needs a nice well-drained, sunny or partial-shaded position. Also, known as the hardy gloxinia but is not related to the Gloxinia in any way. Flower stems will grow to roughly to 50-60cm whilst the fern like foliage will become thick and strong with a 30cm spread. Make sure you dead head to prolong its flowering period, this will range from mid spring to mid summer.

  • Incarvillea Delavayi like to be positioned in full sun or partial shade. 
  • Find your position and plant the tuber upright with the thinner neck of the plant just beneath the surface.

  • Remove the seed pods after flowering. 
  • Incarvillea may need lifting and stored in a cool, dry place throughout the winter months and replanted in the Spring (April to May).
