Galanthus Snow Fox (Pack of 5) Snow Fox Snowdrop White Snowdrops Galanthus Snow Fox

Snow Fox variety, like all Snowdrops (Galanthus), thrives in semi-shaded environments, making it an excellent choice for woodland gardens, rockeries, and naturalised settings. These hardy perennials prefer dappled light beneath deciduous trees, where they can flourish undisturbed. They are remarkably adaptable to a wide range of soil types, provided the soil is well-draining yet retains some moisture. Over time, Snow Fox will form dense clumps, creating a charming carpet of delicate blooms that signal the arrival of late winter and early spring.

What sets Snow Fox apart from other Snowdrop varieties is its striking floral markings. Each elegant, nodding white bloom features a more pronounced green "V" shape and a subtle green tint, making it a distinctive and eye-catching addition to the garden. The flowers stand on slender stems above narrow, grass-like foliage, adding to their refined appearance.

As a low-maintenance plant, Snow Fox naturalises well and will reliably return year after year with minimal care. It benefits from occasional division to encourage vigorous growth and can be left undisturbed for many seasons. Its early blossoms provide a vital nectar source for pollinators emerging from winter dormancy, making it a valuable addition to a wildlife-friendly garden.

How to plant Galanthus Elwesii

  • Find a location with well-drained, moist soil
  • Snowdrops grow well in full Sun or partially-shaded areas.
  • If planting in the garden, plant the bulbs 6-8cm below the soil surface.
  • If planting in Pots, find a container and fill it with good-quality, well-drained soil. Ensure there is adequate draining holes.
  • Plant in the Autumn, September through November.
  • After planting, water well, gently soaking the soil to settle it around the bulbs.
  • Snowdrops will flower February through to March.

How to care for Galanthus Elwesii

  • After flowering has finished for the season leave the foliage in place; don't cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight, create food through photosynthesis and strengthen the bulbs for the future.
  • Water as needed during active growth periods.
  • Allow the flower to die back completely before clearing away any foliage.
