Hyacinth 'City of Haarlem'
Hyacinth 'City of Haarlem' Hyacinth 'City of Haarlem' Yellow Hyacinth

Hyacinth 'City of Haarlem' is a radiant springtime gem, celebrated for its buttery yellow blooms and intensely sweet fragrance that drifts gently through the garden air. This charming variety brings a burst of sunshine to your borders, containers, or spring displays, offering a cheerful contrast to the typical blues and purples often associated with hyacinths.

Reaching a compact height of 20–25 cm (8–10 inches), these bulbs are ideal for planting at the front of borders, along pathways, or in pots on patios where their scent and colour can be fully appreciated up close. They also make wonderful companions in spring bulb mixes, pairing beautifully with tulips, muscari, and daffodils for a stunning layered effect.

‘City of Haarlem’ is not just a visual delight — its bold, sweet scent makes it a top choice for gardeners seeking to enhance their garden with fragrance as well as colour. It's also a great candidate for cut flower arrangements, bringing the joy of spring indoors.

Plant in autumn for a glorious display the following spring. Choose a sunny or partially shaded spot with well-drained soil, and you'll be rewarded with reliable blooms year after year. Whether you're planting en masse for impact or tucking a few bulbs into containers, this vintage favourite never fails to impress.
