Description of Red Canna (Pack of 3) Popular Summer Flowers

From late spring to the end of summer, Cannas will provide colour and flare to your garden. This superbly bright Red Canna provides tall spikes with a clump of exotic flowers at the top which open in succession. Set against large, gorgeous greeny-blue foliage gives this variety a tropical feel.

Cut your Red Canna flowers as they die back and fade, as this will ensure longer flowering times. Cannas like full or partial sun and moist soil. But they don't tend to be too high maintenance.

Planting and growing instructions: Buy Cannas | Red Canna Lily | Award Winning Harts Nursery

How to plant Cannas   Plant your Canna Lily Rhizome in Spring after the risk of first has passed.  Position you cannas in full to partial sun in your borders or pots.  Plant the rhizomes quite shallow, approx. 5-10cm deep with the shoots upwards and exposed. Space the rhizomes about 25-30cm apart.  Water in after planting and keep hydrated during active growth. If planting Cannas in pots, use a 30cm wide pot and fill with John Innes No.3 loam-based compost.

How to care for your Cannas Water during active growth spells.  Deadhead to encourage continued growth.  When a flower spike has no more buds, cut it back to the next side shoot where a secondary spike should develop.  In mild areas, Canna rhizomes can be left outside over winter, however, cover with a deep later of mulch.  Ensure they don't get too wet. If in pots, move to a frost-free place.
