The advice I wanted as a novice gardener is I have just purchased a house which has only a lawn in it.My favourite flowers are lilies. You are selling online autumn planted bulbs and spring planted bulbs.
What is the difference? I have a long border which I only want to see lilies that are white eg lily casablanca from £2.00 is this for one bulb.
How many bulbs would I buy for 1metre and when do I buy them. When do I plant them and what conditions do they like sunny or shade.

Difference between autumn and spring planted bulbs:
- Autumn-planted bulbs are planted before winter during the months of September, October and November. They establish roots over the colder months and flower in the spring.
- Spring-planted bulbs are typically sent out early in the year (February to May) to plant once the soil has warmed, and flower in the summer.
Casablanca Lilies are a great choice:
- The price is per bulb, so 1 to 2 bulbs are £2.75 each, 3-4 bulbs are £2.50 each or if you purchase 5 or more bulbs, they are £2.00 each. o 5 bulbs would be £10.
- For a 1-metre border, planting around 5 to 7 bulbs spaced about 15–20 cm (6–8 inches) apart usually gives a nice, full display.
- Lilies prefer a sunny spot, ideally with some afternoon shade in very hot areas to keep flowers fresh longer.
- Plant bulbs about 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) deep in well-draining soil.
When to buy and plant:
- If you want to plant this autumn, pre-order autumn-planted bulbs now (or soon) to plant in late autumn.
- For spring planted bulbs, you will be able to pre-order bulbs in the autumn and plant once the soil is workable and warmed, usually from late March onwards.
- For Lilies, you can pre-order these now for delivery in the spring.
