What plant do I have?

Hi there
I just received an order from you – all looking good, in excellent condition. 🙂 In the order were 3 Arisaema corms. I was wondering if you knew which species they might be. They have disappeared from your website, assume I got the last three, so I can’t check there. Any information gratefully received.
Many thanks.

HI there,
It’s the cobra lily. Arisaema is a tuberous perennial that will reach 40cm in height. Arisaema is also known as the Japanese Cobra Lily.

Your Arisaema will probably arrive already with a shoot emerging, so plant it with this end just poking through the compost.

How to plant Arisaema
Arisaema like Acid or Neutral soil, preferably loamy/sandy.
They prefer the soil to be moist but well drained.
These Cobra Lilies like a shady position where the direct sunlight will not burn their leaves.
Ideally plant your Arisaema in large pots for stability.
Plant the bulbs with the tip just poking through the surface so you can see the bulb.
When planting in pots, ensure there is adequate drainage and use a potting compost.
Water regularly to avoid the rhizome from drying out.

How to care for Arisaema
Water regularly.
Avoid water logging and may need some protection from frosts in colder climates.
No pruning required.
