Advice please

This question was asked by
L. Sadler

Good morning,
I recently ordered some Lily Kenrda and Cameleon which you have kindly delivered, thank you. I have been trying to purchase some ericaceous compost since I placed my order with you but to no avail. Will they still grow in good quality multi-purpose compost?
Kind regards, Linda

You’re welcome – yes your lilies will be absolutely fine in a good-quality, multi-purpose compost.

Some advice on lily bulb with broken pointy tip

This question was asked by
L. Zahra

I bought some bulbs from Harts Nursery, all arrived in perfect condition. Really the best bulbs I have ever purchased! Unfortunately, when I was planting the lily Loveday, the growing pointy tip got broken halfway, but I planted it next to the other lilies nonetheless. Have I done the right thing i.e. to plant it anyway? I know that probably this year this lily won’t sprout or grow but will it grow next year? Should i remove it from the ground and maybe plant it in a pot until next February? Thank you.

Hi Loranne,

Oh that’s a shame for you – don’t worry though as it will flower next year. I’d just leave it where it is and it will die down naturally and re-emerge next year.
