Hi I purchased the Gloriosa Plants from you at RHS Hampton court Flower Show .
They have grown well over the summer . Very Please
So how do we care for the Rhizomes over the winter, lift out or leave in?
Thanks Keith

Hi there,

Overwintering Gloriosa

    • After your Gloriosa has finished flowering for the season, leave the foliage in place; don’t cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight, create food through photosynthesis and strengthen the bulb for the future.

    • Leaves and stalks may be removed when they yellow.

    • Gloriosa Lily Bulbs don’t like to get too cold, therefore if the temperature in your area can drop to zero degrees (0°), you’ll need to lift your Gloriosa bulbs and store them indoors.

    • If you have planted them in pots, simply bring your pot(s) indoors during the winter months as they require a winter dormancy period.

    • Don’t water while the tuber is dormant.

    • Your Gloriosa lilies will rest for a few months before beginning the next growing cycle in the spring/summer.
