Your planting instructions say to cover lily bulbs with 4-6inches of compost. Does this still apply as the bulbs already have growing tips 2 inches high. In other words do I still cover the growing tips with 4-6 inches of compost. They will be planted in pots.
If your lily bulbs have a slight growing tip already, then plant with 4 inches of soil from the tip. If you cover the bulb with slightly more soil, then it will still be absolutely fine.
