This question was asked by
Sandy V –

At Wisley you told me to email you in the New Year to ask for Anouska which I brought from you at Wisley 2022 and would dearly like more please this year. Regards Sandy

Hi Sandy

I am so sorry but we do not have any more Anouska Roselilies available for 2024.

We do have some Isabella and Natalia still available for pre-ordering for delivery in the Spring. Both of which are just as pretty and frilly as Anouska.

Lily bulbs for Christmas present

This question was asked by
Hilda

Is it possible to purchase or order Lilium Gizmo for a Christmas gift?

Hi there,
Yes, you can pre-order some Gizmo lilies for a Christmas gift but all lily bulb orders are dispatched in February/March when they need planting.
You could order them to be delivered directly to the recipient and add a note in their Christmas card to let them know what they have to look forward to in the New Year.

Gloriosa Rhizomes

This question was asked by
Keith F

Hi I purchased the Gloriosa Plants from you at RHS Hampton court Flower Show .
They have grown well over the summer . Very Please
So how do we care for the Rhizomes over the winter, lift out or leave in?
Thanks Keith

Hi there,

Overwintering Gloriosa

    • After your Gloriosa has finished flowering for the season, leave the foliage in place; don’t cut it off. The leaves will gather sunlight, create food through photosynthesis and strengthen the bulb for the future.

    • Leaves and stalks may be removed when they yellow.

    • Gloriosa Lily Bulbs don’t like to get too cold, therefore if the temperature in your area can drop to zero degrees (0°), you’ll need to lift your Gloriosa bulbs and store them indoors.

    • If you have planted them in pots, simply bring your pot(s) indoors during the winter months as they require a winter dormancy period.

    • Don’t water while the tuber is dormant.

    • Your Gloriosa lilies will rest for a few months before beginning the next growing cycle in the spring/summer.

I bought this lovely lily from RHS Hampton Court years ago and probably from yours stand.

Can you please tell me why it was discontinued?

Hi Sue

Yes it has been discontinued unfortunately because it wasn’t a viable variety to last the long haul but we do have some gorgeous other lilies that are similar:

Lilly bulb re-planting time

This question was asked by
Merih D

Hi,
I hope you and your team are well.

I have bought tree lillies from you few years ago. Planted them in pots and since few years, they have been blooming so well. Now the pots became too packed and I would like to take them out and re-plant them. Could you please advise me if it is the right time to do this now? The above ground parts of the plants are completely dried out.

Many thanks,
Merih

Hi there,

Yes, Autumn is the perfect time to lift and replant your lilies, once everything has died back naturally and the stem has turned brown and hollow.

You can divide the bulbs by breaking off the baby bulblets and replanting them all.

Roselilies in stock

This question was asked by

Hello
Can you tell me if you will be selling any Leona or Isabella roselilies this year as I can’t find them on the web site.
I have bought them from you for many years.
Thanks
Roger

Hi there,

Unfortunately, we won’t be having Leona next year but we do have Isabella (which I’ve just put back in stock for you). You could try Roselily Angela which is very similar to Leona.
I have linked both varieties below for you:

Roselily ‘Isabella’ (SKU17619)

Selection of tubers for September wedding

This question was asked by
Jonathan R

Hi,

I would like to put on a good display of dahlias for my daughter’s wedding which is on 7th September next year. Planting in large pots of in the ground would both be options.

I have some images from some social media streams but need some help with what varieties they are. Could you help if I provide the photos please?

I can send them over if you let me have your email address.

Thank you.

Best regards

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan

I can definitely try – please send them over by return email.

You can also use our search filter on our website to locate dahlias by colour if that helps.
