I would like to purchase 8 Cardiocrinum bulbs and hope that they will be as mature and therefore as successful as the ones I bought from you in 2018! They were a real show stopper, thank you very much.
Please advise of availability,
kind regards,
Doris Slingsby

Many thanks

Hi
I have just bought a cardiocrinum giganteum bulb and would like to know how to plant it. Have had conflicting advice about a) whether to leave the top of the bulb showing above the surface, b) how much moisture it likes and c) whether it can be planted now 27th March.
Many thanks.
Mary

Cardiocrinum giganteum like most soil types.
They prefer the soil to be moist but well drained.
Cardiocrinum giganteum like a shady position where the direct sunlight will not burn their leaves.
Plant the bulbs with the tip just at the surface so you can see the bulb and planting them in March/April is the time to plant them,

Hi. I would like to grow some Cardiocrinum Giganteum in a semi-shaded bed. Could you tell me how many bulbs I would need to fill a roundish area approximately 50 cm in diameter?
Also, if I plant them this February will they flower this year.
Thanks

Hi there,
Cardiocrinum Giganteum will be happy in a semi-shaded area and yes, they will flower this year. I would suggest planting one bulb in a 50cm diameter area.

Kind regards

Pot Size for Cardiocrinum Giganteum

Hello, could these stunning Cardiocrinum Giganteum lilies be planted in a pot and how big would this need to be. I have never seen this lily before and would like to be able to grow it but do not have a suitable spot direct into the garden.

We would recommend potting your Cardiocrinum Giganteum bulbs in a 12inch pot.

Cardiocrinum giganteum like most soil types. They prefer the soil to be moist but well drained and humus-rich. These lilies like a shady position where the direct sunlight will not burn their leaves.
